Hardwood Floor Cleaning, Care and Maintenance

The beauty of hardwood floors is that they are so elegant in appearance and virtually effortless to care for. Whether your floors are pre-finished like Bruce hardwood floors, or raw wood that has been stained and finished, the preservation process is the same. Before washing your floors we suggest vacuuming them with a floor attachment so as to prevent any debris from scratching them while you wash.

How to Clean Your Hardwood Floors

We do not suggest using any oil, silicone, or wax based products. Instead, we recommend glass cleaner diluted with water, or white vinegar diluted with water, accompanied by a soft mop. Clean a 5′ by 5′ area with the solution then dry it immediately as air drying will cause a dull and hazy appearance of your floors. For daily dusting we advise using a dry, soft cloth or mop. To recap, all you need to do is vacuum any debris, mop with tepid solution, and dry. Following these three easy steps will leave your hardwood floors sparkling.
